The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse

A children’s book, it is true, but it is a book for all those who have a child in their heart, although sometimes they do not remember that little being. The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse by Charlie Macksey have the magic of The Little Prince, but this book has its own spirit of love, of human simplicity, and has its own reflections.

The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse is entirely made up of charming illustrations, well, Macksey have been cartoonist for long time on The Spectator; the book have a singular appearance with an artistic handwriting on 128 pages.

Maybe the book can teach us new things, or maybe it reminds us of what we already knew in the depths of our souls. It is easy to find beautiful phrases between its pages, simple phrases for understanding the important things in life.

The pandemic (for the Covid 19) fulfilled a mission in the midst of human suffering, the families were lucky enough to live together more time at home, the parents had the opportunity to read with the children, it was a way out of the unfortunate health situation. Children grow up and one day they will remember those days when they read stories as a family.

It is a story about friendship, a story that can bring back memories of Winnie the Pooh, however, it is interesting to note that we are talking about a bestseller; even more interesting is finding that a small book becomes a refuge for children who live with learning difficulties or difficulties to establish social relationships.

“My daughter has a processing disorder so reading is a lot of hard work. When the book is so good it outweighs the difficulty of the task of reading, I know the book is a winner. As she was reading, she kept running out of her room to tell me about a cute, sweet or touching part of the book. When she finished it, she handed it to me and said, “Your turn!”…”, said the reader Christy Hall about her experience.

We rarely talk about the healing power of reading, PhD Kandia N. Lewis advises reading in babies, as a favorable practice for the growth of children; The Little Prince is a book to read at any age, this is one of those titles that can achieve the hopeful effect in the middle of the harsh reality.

The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse reminds us of the world we all dream of living in, a world we need. What is the best way to be happy? Ask the boy, Be kind, said the horse. It is possible that the author represents in the horse that same meaning that the Chinese zodiac gives to this quadruped, for the Chinese the horse is a symbol, in these culture represents love, persistence, devotion and stability.

The symbolism of the fox signifies a period of great discernment, especially when it comes to personal relationships. Anyway, the reader is always capable of creating new meanings. A book like The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse it may not answer all the questions of childhood and life, but one thing is certain, it allows us to ask ourselves again where we are going, and perhaps it allows us to find a surprising answer.
